I've perused the 'configure SMTP/PHP Mail' instructions on how to configure the contact form email, however the configuration with 'ssl://domain.com' still fails to connect over port 587.  Office 365 does not use ssl, but StartTLS for encryption.  Is there a different prefix to use to engage starttls protocol?  I tried starttls://domain.com, but that failed immediately.

Couldn't find a solution for this, so I just setup php mail to a non-o365 mail source, then configured rules there to forward to O365 mailbox.  Quite convoluted, but doesn't seem to be any other option at the moment.  Figured I would share the work-around at least.

Hi,

Try using tls://domain.com when configuring a tls mail. The port is a TLS port so ssl://domain.com won't work.

If you still face issue let us know.

I tried tls://smtp.office365.com, but no go.  'Failed even to connect'.  See error message in picture and configuration screen.

Just as a suggestion, it would be great to have a 'test' button on the simple contact form configuration page.

After a few days of troubleshooting, I realized that sitepad is spoofing the email address.  It adds the from address of sitepad@yourdomain.com while you are login in with youremail@yourdmain.com.

If you look at your Entra logs, you will likely see this error:
----
The reply address '{actual}' does not match the reply address '{provided}' provided when requesting Authorization code.
----
To solve for this, you MUST create an alias of sitepad for youremail@yourdomain.com.  This will prevent the issue.

Once I created the alias (and of course an app password) emails were sent successfully.

It is disappointing that sitepad does not appear to know this AND that they do not allow password login, meaning that logging in is virtually impossible when SMTP is not working.
